Steve “Zetro” Souza , vocalist of Exodus , once again showed his support for Donald Trump , former president of the United States, and criticized the federal government's vaccination requirement in the face of the pandemic.
Scars And Guitars podcast , the singer argued that the rejection of the former US president was due to Trump's temperament, who "was already a millionaire and very famous" when he took office and, therefore, did not try to please public opinion.
“Throughout my life – I’m 57 years old – I’ve voted for Democrats many, many times. I vote for whoever I think can do it. And over the last 10 years, I’ve gone completely to the right,” he said.
Regarding the recently established federal laws in the United States requiring proof of vaccination for entry to concerts, for example, Zetro expressed his opposition. “They are forcing you to take a vaccine. Do we live in a socialist society? What happened to 'my body, my choice'? I don't understand. And it's not about the vaccine not being effective or anything like that; it's about the power of choice,” he said.
Zetro believes in the inevitability of COVID-19, but holds liberal views on how the government should handle the health crisis. “Yes, [the virus] is real. Yes, it kills people. It’s not worse than the flu, though. You can’t shut down the world. You can’t ruin people’s businesses,” he argued. “My opinion is that you can’t run away. You need to face it head-on and that’s how you’ll win.”
