Interview with Steve Zetro Souza
In an interview with Metalshop TV, Exodus vocalist Steve "Zetro" Souza spoke about the progress toward releasing a new album from the band, whose last work was released in 2014, "Blood In, Blood Out". Zetro said that the band wouldn't write without Gary Holt, who currently also plays with Slayer
“As far as I know, he’s not working with Slayer right now, and we’re going to get together and start writing a new album. We know we need him and we wouldn’t do it without him. It would be sacrilege to write a new album without Gary Holt. It’s just ironic that Exodus and Slayer have simultaneous touring cycles. They released an album nine months after us. And bands like that, we’re in this for three or four years. We know that “Blood In Blood Out” was released in October 2014 and that it’s time to go back to the studio to write new Exodus songs.”
Regarding when we can expect a new album, Zetro said:
“You can’t promise anything when it comes to music. And again, our main member is playing in another great and legendary band, and we love that. So I can’t force him. But the consensus between us and our management, our agents, and the people we work with is that it’s time. It’s time to make a new album and we know it.”.
