Valerie Bertinelli Eddie Van Halen 's ex-wife , is promoting her memoir, Enough Already: Learning To Love The Way I Am Today . In a recent interview with USA Today , Bertinelli spoke about her relationship with Van Halen, to whom she was married for 21 years until their official divorce in 2007.
According to Valerie, the couple had difficulty continuing to live together, but they also felt it was "impossible to live completely apart" and that "love" wouldn't be a "big enough" word to describe their feelings for each other.
“I can’t make people understand because it’s very personal, but I’ve never felt a love like that,” Bertinelli says. “Even with all the horrible things we did to each other, there were so many more good things. I don’t think I’ve ever been loved like that by anyone else. I feel a connection with Ed that I’ve never felt with anyone else.”
Recently, Valerie Bertinelli also revealed that she was present at the time of Eddie Van Halen's death, along with the couple's son, Wolfgang Van Halen . According to her, the guitarist's last words were "I love you" to both of them.
