Nightwish vocalist Anette Olzon released the single and lyric video for "Heed to Call," also announcing her third studio album titled Rapture. Set for release on May 10th by the Italian label Frontiers Records , the album features collaborations with guitarist Magnus Karlsson and bassist Johan Husgafvel , the singer's husband.

Since leaving Nightwish in 2012, Anette has released two more studio albums, Shine (2014 ) and Strong (2021), as well as several singles. She also formed The Dark Element in 2016 with Finnish guitarist Jani Liimatainen , formerly of Sonata Arctica . The group has released the albums The Dark Element (2017) and Songs The Night Sings (2019).

Anette Olzon's new album

The new album continues the fully metal-oriented work that Anette Olzon had already done in her last album, Strong , contrasting with her first solo work from 2014, which features a folk-pop-rock sound. Strong received good reviews from the media: "an incarnation of ABBA metal , with inescapable melodies juxtaposed with galloping guitars and synthesizers. Her best work since Imaginaerum ," said Dannii Leivers of Metal Hammer .

In addition to guitarist Magnus Karlsson and bassist Johan Husgafvel, the new album Rapture also features engineer, guitarist, bassist, drummer and vocalist Jacob Hansen Invocator , who mixed the album (via Blabbermouth ) . The preview release of the single "Heed to Call" only gives a taste of what this teamwork could be like, bringing the powerful vocals of Anette Olzon and, probably, the essence of power metal.
