During a live stream on the Bandmade channel , guitarist Jéssica di Falchi opened up about her departure from the death metal band Crypta , where she had been playing since 2022. The musician spoke candidly about the reasons that led her to make the decision, mainly citing a lack of affinity with the musical style and the difficulty of feeling integrated into the group.

According to her, death metal was never the genre she identified with most. Despite her respect for the band's work and her commitment during her time in the lineup, Jéssica explained that she always had roots in more melodic metal styles, as was evident in previous projects alongside renowned drummer Aquiles Priester . “I've always been very clear that death metal was never my thing, I've never hidden that. When I accepted the invitation to join Crypta, it made a lot of sense because, even though it's death metal, death metal is a subgenre of metal, and I'm a metal guitarist,” she commented during the live stream.

A feeling of disconnection marked Jéssica di Falchi's departure from Crypta.

Beyond the musical aspect, the guitarist reported that she also faced a constant feeling of not belonging within the band, which intensified over time. Even dedicating herself fully to Crypta's intense schedule, Jéssica revealed that she felt she was investing her energy in something that, deep down, didn't represent who she is as an artist. “I joined the band, it already existed, but as time went by I realized that, in fact, I felt less and less a part of it. I never felt like I belonged to the band. As time went on, things didn't improve. Many things happened too, until it reached a point where I thought: 'Wow, I'm dedicating 101% of my life to a band that isn't mine, and apparently this feeling will never change within me.'”

With a desire to explore new sounds and collaborate with other musicians, Jéssica understood that it was time to move forward. She highlighted that she sees this moment as part of a personal and professional maturation process, and is open to opportunities that better reflect her musical identity.

Meanwhile, Crypta has not yet officially announced a new permanent guitarist. The band will likely feature guest musicians for upcoming performances until a permanent replacement is chosen. One of the names being considered is Helena Nagagata , an artist who has recently stood out for her original work and with the Shamangra .
