Evanescence fans can get excited, as the band's new album will likely be released early next year.

The prediction was given by vocalist Amy Lee in a recent interview with radio station WDHA-FM 105.5 FM . The artist spoke about the band's plans for new music, less than three months after the release of the single "Afterlife," from the Netflix series Devil May Cry .

Amy said [transcription via Blabbermouth ]: “We had just gone into the studio for the first time, just before recording 'Afterlife'. So it was in the middle of… We kind of finished our main tour last year, at the end of the year. Then we went in the middle with Nick [ Raskulinecz , producer] and did some songs, went back on the road.

“So 'Afterlife' was happening. We came back and did it really fast and got back on the road. It’s been very, very refreshing and a lot of fun, and I’m having a ‘YOLO’ moment [acronym for 'You Only Live Once']. I have no time to waste. Let’s go.”

Prediction for the next Evanescence album.

Amy Lee continued: “Since last time, we started thinking about things differently; you have to make a whole album, release everything at once. The pandemic hit, and we had four songs recorded, and we still hadn't finished making the songs for our album. So, we started releasing them because at that time it was like, 'Well, who knows when this is going to end, if it's going to end at all? So, let's release our music.'”

“It was so good to have the satisfaction of engagement and releasing music while it’s still new and we’re still working on the album, and it’s happening in real time, that I want this year to be like that. I just want to release things, whether it’s for our album or some kind of cool side project. Do that throughout the year and probably the full release will be at the beginning of next year.”

The vocalist also spoke about Evanescence's tour plans for the coming months, saying: “We have a show with My Chemical Romance in September. A one-off, random show. Super cool. And we have a stadium tour with Metallica in Australia in October. Several radio shows. Fun, just cool. We're playing with Poppy , who I love and who I'm also friends with. So, just fun things this year. Lots of creative things happening — that's the main show — but in between, one-off shows that are really fun and worthwhile.”
