The album Synthesis was released in November.
In an interview with radio host Donny Fandango, Evanescence vocalist Amy Lee revealed that "Hi-Lo" was written ten years ago.
The track, which is featured on the band Synthesis , was shelved for a decade because she felt it "didn't fit into any of their previous work."
Amy Lee also says that working with David Campbell on the new album inspired her to finish the song and helped create the "beautiful and enjoyable emotion she was looking for."
