Evanescence vocalist Amy Lee shared a video today revealing to fans the mysterious project the band has been teasing for the past few months. Lee announced the album and tour “Synthesis” in the video, which can be seen below.
The album will be a reinvention of Evanescence songs with new orchestral and electronic arrangements. The band re-recorded several selected songs from their catalog: “We’re taking our songs, removing the big distorted guitars, the rock drums, and replacing them with a full orchestra and a synthetic world of beats and sounds. We went through our entire catalog of songs and selected the ones that were made to be heard this way, and we’re stitching them all together from the beginning ,” said Lee.
The vocalist announced that after the album's release, the band will tour with an orchestra to support "Synthesis." The album is expected to be released at the end of the year.
