He's here! After a long (very long) wait, Evanescence is finally back this Friday, the 26th, with The Bitter Truth Wikimetal readers voted and the result was clear: this is the most anticipated release of the year.
With a total of 12 tracks, The Bitter Truth had 5 singles released over the past year. The public was able to hear the tracks “Better Without You”, “The Game Is Over”, “Yeah Right”, “Wasted On You” and “Use My Voice” in advance.
In a recent interview with Consequence of Sound , Amy Lee stated that the band wanted to show who they are with the new album. "I knew we wanted to turn things around on this album and let the band really shine," she said.
In a statement, Amy Lee commented on The Bitter Truth : “I want people to take away from this album a feeling of hope, power, and strength. Something that inspires me a lot in life is people who have overcome great obstacles – survivors. I hope we can convey the idea that even when things are incredibly painful, life is worth living. Leaning into the darkest and most challenging moments, facing them, and discovering that we are not alone in them, makes us real. It makes us strong enough to deal with them. And it unites us, if we allow it, in a deeper appreciation of the light… and the truth. Thank you for the memories. Now let’s make some new ones.”
