Evanescence has released a single , ” the second song released from the band's new album, The Bitter Truth , following “Wasted On You .
Even with the album and tour postponed due to COVID-19 , the group didn't give up on keeping fans excited with a great new song. While the first single has the essence of the band, but with a slightly calmer touch, "The Game Is Over" features classic powerful vocals from vocalist Amy Lee , and an imposing instrumental.
"A protest against the lies we are pressured to become by society. In the face of depression and anxiety – and especially in a world that seems to crumble every day – it's a cry to end the charade that everything is okay," says the song's description.
“This song is about getting tired of lies,” Amy Lee emphasizes. “The disguises we wear for others to make them feel comfortable, the inner feelings are so different from what we show on the outside to fit within the boundaries of what is socially acceptable, or what isn’t happening to make it unpleasant, or too ‘strange’ to be around.”
