Evanescence performed at the 12th edition of the Game Awards last Thursday night, the 11th, with a performance of "Afterlife ," a song created for the Netflix Devil May Cry
The presentation took place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles during the ceremony celebrating the best video games and cultural trends of the year.
The track, originally released in March 2025, gained renewed prominence after being featured in the most high-profile event in the gaming industry. The performance showcases vocalist Amy Lee and the band delivering a dramatic and energetic version, widely shared on social media and video platforms shortly after the show.
In addition to the live performance, Evanescence released a remix version of "Afterlife" in collaboration with the British synthwave band Gunship . The track is available on Spotify Singles as part of the special musical programming surrounding the awards ceremony.
In a press release, Amy Lee said: “We’ve been looking for an excuse to work with Gunship for a long time. And I couldn’t be more excited about this new dark take on
'Afterlife'. Being part of the Devil May Cry has been an honor and a lot of fun.”
The repertoire of “Afterlife” is not only a remarkable return to the music scene, but also a bridge between rock and gamer pop culture. The song is part of the soundtrack of the series Devil May Cry , an animated adaptation of the famous Capcom game released this year on Netflix.
