Jen Majura , former guitarist of Evanescence , opened up about the demands and "judgments" from fans even seven months after her departure from the band.

The announcement of the guitarist's departure was made by Evanescence in May 2022. From the outset, Jen stated that she was not involved in the decision to leave the band and was honest in saying she was "shocked" by the seemingly sudden news.

In a recent interview with the Ibagens Cast , the guitarist spoke about the negative reaction she receives on social media when she speaks the truth about her feelings regarding her dismissal. “I’m very, very tired because there’s so much judgment out there. It’s gotten to the point where no matter what I post, people comment on it. And it seems ridiculous to me, but if I say how I really feel – I’m hurt, it’s difficult, it’s obvious I’m not okay – people say, ‘Oh, you’re playing the victim!’” she said. “And if I say I’m okay, (…) then people say things like, ‘She never cared about the band!’”

Jen Majura's solution was to become more reclusive on social media to avoid negative repercussions from any post, no matter how random or personal. "I could post a picture of yogurt and people would find a way to connect it to what happened," she said.

“Generally speaking, I haven’t been doing well [in recent months]. I’m doing well, but I’m far from doing well,” she said. “I can’t say that my last few months and years have been good. So 2023 will be amazing, right?”
