Evanescence: “Bring Me To Life” dethrones pop artists and reaches #1 on iTunes

The song reached its peak 19 years after its release

After 19 years, Evanescence is seeing "Bring Me To Life" gain renewed momentum and become number 1 on iTunes in the United States.

The 2003 track from the album Fallen became a hit upon its release, reaching number one in the UK and the Top 10 in other countries, but its sudden return to the charts almost 20 years after its debut remains a mystery.

The reason behind the revival is still unknown, but internet users have pointed to possible causes for the phenomenon, according to Loudwire .

Unlike cases such as Metallica 's "Master of Puppets" and Ghost "Bring Me To Life" didn't appear in any hit series or become a TikTok . One internet user, however, pointed out that the song had been the riddle in the Heardle the previous day, where the listener has to guess the song's name after hearing a short excerpt.

Some fans on Reddit pointed out that the song's low price on iTunes might be a contributing factor, as the track was selling for $0.69. Another possible cause could be Evanescence's joint tour with Korn , which began last week.

Whatever the reason, Evanescence dethroned big mainstream names like Nicki Minaj and the K-POP group Blackpink , who had major releases this week. On Twitter, the band celebrated, writing: “19 years and still going strong! 'Bring Me To Life' is #1 on iTunes! Thank you for all the love.”
