Joey Tempest (vocalist) and John Norum (guitarist) of Europe didn't let the hectic schedule of their shows in Brazil stop them from enjoying their stay in the country.
After driving Brasília (at Arena of Rock ) and São Paulo (at Monsters of Rock ) wild with their energetic and charismatic shows, the Swedish hard rock band decided to pay tribute to their fans – a very specific segment of them, it must be said.
Returning the warm welcome from the Brazilian audience, the band's vocalist and guitarist visited Palmeiras' stadium, Allianz Parque, the venue for the festival in São Paulo, and took the opportunity to wear the team's jersey and take a photo. On the band's Instagram, they left a brief message for their fans:
"Thank you again, São Paulo – We will be back," they said in a social media post.
Europe's new album will feature a sound similar to the band's first album.
Europe fans have been eagerly awaiting a new album from the band for years. Walk the Earth , released in 2017, was the group's last release. Apparently, according to Joey Tempest himself, they are already working on a new album.
In an interview with Rolling Stone Brazil , the Swedish vocalist confirmed that the new album should arrive in 2026, marking almost a decade without major releases. Tempest justified the delay due to the COVID-19 pandemic:
“It started a bit because of Covid, but it was good for composing, as I could start from scratch. There was more time, I didn't need to go back on the road. That makes the new album interesting.”
Speaking about the sound of the new material, the vocalist stated that the group has been inspired "by some influences from our past," but that, even so, it will be "the same adventure as always":
“We’re sending demos back and forth, we’re getting there. We already have some great ideas. We’re planning on going into the studio in the fall [spring in the southern hemisphere], which means there will be music next year. The whole band is very excited.”
