Europe warned fans about some online scams involving the band's name or members, especially vocalist Joey Tempest .

In a statement released on their official account, the group reminded fans and friends about fake accounts created using the musicians' photos and names. "These fake actors contact some of you (our friends) directly, asking for personal information and money," the group explained. "There are many 'Joey Tempest' imposters asking for private meetings and money."

The band reminded everyone that the lead singer does not have personal or official social media accounts, and any such interaction is not authentic. In such cases, the recommendation is to report the fake account and block it.

Unfortunately, this type of scam is not uncommon. Known as catfishing, the practice of deceiving other users about one's true identity and information has already claimed many victims with financial and emotional losses, as in the case of the woman who believed she was engaged to Bret Michaels of Poison and a close friend of Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe .
