The song doesn't directly mention COVID-19, but it includes lines like: "I can't take this nonsense anymore / It's gone too far / You want to claim my soul / You're going to have to come here and knock down my door.".
Other parts of the song talk about the side effects Eric Clapton experienced after receiving the vaccine . “I knew something was wrong / When you start to enforce the law / I can’t move my hands / I started to sweat.”
Clapton has made controversial statements since the beginning of the pandemic when he spoke out against lockdowns as a way to prevent COVID-19. Subsequently, the musician opposed the vaccine and even said that this stance has harmed his personal relationships.
