Enslaved has released the third single, “Urjotun”, from their upcoming studio album, Utgard , scheduled for release on October 2nd. The track, one of the group's most experimental to date, is accompanied by a psychedelic music video depicting dark visions and a journey into the subconscious.

“'The idea for the lyrics of 'Urjotun' had been languishing in the chaos of my head for a while, when Ivar [ Bjørnson , guitarist, keyboardist and backing vocalist] sent me a demo of a riff last fall,” said vocalist Grutle Kjellson . “I immediately knew what it was, the soundtrack of a primal giant, Urjotun! Our love and fascination with the Krautrock scene [experimental bands from the late 1960s and early 1970s] like Tangerine Dream and Kraftwerk finally ascended into an Enslaved song.”

The music video for “Urjotun” – which you can see below – follows that of “Jettegryta”, a video filmed in Iceland, showing a rather sinister glacial landscape. Click here to watch.
