Elton John is the first headliner for Rock In Rio 2026 to be announced!
The singer will give a single performance in Brazil exclusively for the festival. He will perform on the World Stage on September 7th, along with the icon of Brazilian music, Gilberto Gil .
The artist's last visit to Brazil was eight years ago, in 2017, with his Wonderful Crazy Night , shortly before the start of his farewell tour. The singer performed his last show in 2023 and had been retired from the stage since then – which makes his announcement at Rock in Rio historic.
The festival will take place in 2026 on September 4th, 5th, 6th, 7th, 11th, 12th, and 13th at the Olympic Park. Rock in Rio Card sales are scheduled to begin on December 9th at 7 PM. The pre-sale, for Rock in Rio Club members, will take place on December 4th, also at the same time. The ticket, purchased in advance, allows the holder to choose the date of their festival attendance [ via g1 ].

The announcement of Elton John at Rock in Rio 2026 is a huge surprise and a great achievement. In 2023, the singer performed what was supposed to be his last show of his career, ending the farewell tour that began in 2018.
Elton John's last performance took place on July 8, 2023 in Stockholm, to an audience of 30,000 people. His farewell tour, Farewell Yellow Brick Road , began in 2018 but was interrupted due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The return to Brazil will be with a historic and exclusive show for Rock in Rio 2026.
