Modern Drummer the famous American magazine and one of the leading authorities on drumming content, has begun its highly anticipated annual vote. Three world-renowned Brazilian drummers are competing in various categories.
Eloy Casagrande , the current drummer for Slipknot , is nominated in the Metal category. It's worth remembering that Eloy already won in this same category in 2021. And this year he's competing alongside Mario Duplantier ( Gojira ), Charlie Benante ( Anthrax ), Ray Luzier ( Korn ), and Greyson Nekrutman , an American who occupies Eloy's former position as drummer for Sepultura .
Bruno Valverde , drummer for Angra , is in the running in the Up & Coming category, which focuses on promising up-and-coming drummers. He is competing against Tosh Peterson , Jas Kayser , Lucy Ritter Shane Hawkins , son of the late Taylor Hawkins, drummer for the Foo Fighters .
We also have a third Brazilian competing in the Social Media category, Maurício Weimar , competing for all his content related to the world of drumming, produced on his social media profile. And he is competing alongside Raja Meissner , Seth Davis , Joe Lana Jr. , and CJ Hökdal .

Eloy Casagrande will make his debut with Slipknot in Brazil.
The Brazilian drummer will make his first appearance as a member of Slipknot at Knotfest Brazil.
With shows scheduled for October 19th and 20th, where the band will play two different setlists . This will be the first time the musician performs with Slipknot on Brazilian soil.
Public anticipation is high, especially after the warm reception on social media from both the band and Eloy himself when he was announced as the group's newest member.
