Encouraged by the remarkable success of their self-titled EP, the Swedish band Electric Haze , from the city of Umeå, announced the release date of their first full-length album, Get In Line , and directed much of their attention towards a growing segment of their fanbase: South America.
Founded in 2014, the band maintains its solid and cohesive lineup to this day, consisting of Anton Ekström (vocals), Tommy Töyrä (guitar), Andre Ekström (bass), and Johan Andersson (drums). Their first single, “Master & Slave,” was released in 2016, following the debut of the excellent “Endlessly” and “(Shut Up) Shuffle and Deal.” The singles paved the way for the EP, which was made available digitally at the end of that same year. With six songs under their belt, Electric Haze hit the road with live shows throughout their country, attracting immediate attention from the press and local audiences.
In 2018, the band began working on their first full-length album, Get In Line , recorded at Kapten Studio in Umeå and finalized by the band's vocalist, Anton Ekström. The album resulted in nine songs brimming with dense energy, addressing heavy themes with lyrics about depression, anxiety, and feelings of exclusion, conveyed in a very expansive and poetic way.
Possessing a distinctive sound with an intense vibe, boldly mixing classic and modern hard rock, the Swedish band dispels the freezing climate of their home country and paints South America in warm colors through their upbeat music.
The nine tracks that make up Get in Line will take the listener on a journey through the 80s and 90s, through the influences of bands like Deep Purple, Black Country Communion and Rainbow , which, mixed with the band's identity and elements of modern rock, create a unique combination that will make you want to dance, sing at the top of your lungs, fall in love and completely surrender to each of the songs, making the old saying that rock is dying sound completely untenable.
The digital release of the album is scheduled for May 28th via Idle North Records, but you can already check out the cover art, the tracklist, and listen to the band's new single, the complex ballad "Cavern of Pain," here.
