Fans of Edu Falaschi can now delve into the expanded territories of Vera Cruz beyond the album with the release of the concept book about the album's history and the short film for "Land Ahoy".
The adaptation of the complex story set between Brazil and Portugal during the period of invasion and colonization of our country is narrated in the novel Vera Cruz , written by Fabio Caldeira , mixing historical elements and fiction.
“The writing of the book took place in several stages. First, it was necessary to understand the elements that Edu had in mind. Then came the research so that, as far as possible, historicity was respected in its broadest sense. In turn, the fictional part, balanced with real facts, provided the setting for the gradual development of the depth of each character, as well as each event,” commented the musician and writer.
The book is available for pre-order and will be officially released in December. There are two editions, both arriving on shelves in a deluxe hardcover version with 300 pages.
Frequently asked if he would make a film based on the album's concept , Falaschi brought the characters of the plot to life in the short film for "Land Ahoy". In the music video directed by Junior Carelli , we meet Jorge, the Chosen One , the child with the birthmark of the sign of the cross who was born around 1500 to fulfill a prophecy.
The boy is raised in Portugal, protected by the Order of Christ, unaware that he is, in fact, the last descendant of the founder of a secret, evil order called the Order of the Cross of Nero. Because he is part of this lineage, Jorge has been persecuted since birth by the leader of this evil order, the Black Bishop. In an attempt to protect him, his guardian Pedro Álvares Cabral decides to take him on a voyage, landing on the island of Vera Cruz. Would he be safe there?
“The 'Land Ahoy' music video was a great challenge, but also a great personal and professional achievement! When I decided to start a solo career, from the beginning I structured myself to deliver the best I could, both in terms of quality and production. I work with the best professionals to produce for the best fans in the world,” Falaschi commented about the production. “This concept will be in everything I do from now on. Including the next tour! The fans won't be disappointed.”
