Edu Falaschi responds to whether 'Vera Cruz' is a continuation of Angra's album.

Musician answered a fan's question on the show 'The Wikimetal Happy Hour'.

Edu Falaschi released Vera Cruz , his first solo album, last year. The album, which was chosen as one of the best of 2021 by the Wikimetal and also in a public vote , tells a story about the arrival of the Portuguese in Brazil during the colonial period. Could it be a continuation of Angra 's Temple of Shadows ?

The question was asked by a fan during Falaschi's appearance on The Wikimetal Happy Hour , in an interview with Nando Machado . The band's fifth album also has a conceptual narrative, but it takes place during the First Crusade, a religious war waged by the Catholic Church in the 11th century, while Vera Cruz is historically situated in the events of the 16th century in Brazil.

Considering the musical aspect of the albums, Falaschi explains that the solo album is "a compilation of 30 years" of his career, with aspects of all the projects he has been involved in, from Symbols and Mitrium to Almah and Angra.

“Because I was in Angra for 12 years, you know? So there’s a history. And another thing, maybe it’s the singer. The same composer from those albums, Rebirth, Temple of Shadows and so on,” he observed. “And it’s the same singer, so that gives it a DNA that can’t be dissociated, it’s the guy from those albums, who recorded and composed those songs, so there’s no escaping that and composing that kind of music.”
