Eddie Vedder has just released a cover of  Tom Petty . It's part of the soundtrack for the Apple TV+ Bad Monkey , which is scheduled to premiere on August 14th.

The series Bad Monkey, developed by Bill Lawrence , stars Vince Vaughn . This time, he will play a former detective turned food inspector who gets involved in corruption in Florida. Along with Vaughn, the show's cast includes Michelle Monaghan , Jodie Turner-Smith , Meredith Ha, and others.

The song, originally released by Petty on his 1999 Echo Oscars , Eddie performed the song.

During the studio recording of the cover, Eddie was accompanied by a heavyweight team: Andrew Watt , Chad Smith , Benmont Tench , Glen Hansard , Chris Chaney, and Josh Klinghoffer . Vedder's version became a rock anthem, with fingerpicked guitar and a beautiful organ solo. Furthermore, the singer's powerful voice gives the song all the emotional weight the lyrics deserve.
