After Nikki Sixx responded to Eddie Vedder about Mötley Crüe and called Pearl Jam "one of the most boring bands in history," Vedder has now offered a rebuttal to the argument.

In addition to mocking Sixx's comment on Twitter by posting a video of excited Pearl Jam fans and writing "we love our annoying fans ," Eddie Vedder also launched a new scathing comment towards Mötley Crue during a show in New Jersey.

According to a video reproduced by UCR Chad Smith 's drum kit (currently the drummer for his solo project and also for the Red Hot Chili Peppers ) and says: “This drum kit here – this beautiful silver machine that he [Chad] pilots – doesn't need lift or rotation to do its job. I just wanted to point that out.” The comment was a dig at the extravagant drum kit belonging to Tommy Lee .

The argument between Vedder and Nikki Sixx began with an interview in which the Pearl Jam vocalist said he disliked 1980s glam metal bands and their sexist attitude, specifically mentioning the quartet in question. “The metal bands that – I’m trying to be kind – I despised. 'Girls, Girls, Girls' and Mötley Crüe: Fuck off. I hated that,” he commented.

During the same interview, Eddie Vedder also discussed his long-standing activism regarding women's rights and abortion.
