The musician paid tribute to the artists who passed away in the last year.
Last Sunday, the 4th, all eyes were on the Oscars, the most important film awards ceremony. The event took place at the famous Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, California, and featured a special appearance by the frontman of Pearl Jam.
Eddie Vedder took to the stage during the "In Memoriam" segment, reserved to honor the artists we lost in the last year. There, the vocalist performed a moving cover of "Room at the Top" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers.
The single was originally recorded in 1999 for the album Echo and is considered one of the biggest hits of the musician who passed away in October 2017 after suffering a heart attack which, according to the medical report, was due to a drug overdose.
During the performance, Eddie Vedder took to the stage with only his guitar and his fellow pianist and sang: “I’ve got a room on top of the world tonight / I can see everything tonight (…) I’ve got a room where everybody / Can drink and forget about the things that went wrong in their lives.”
The lead singer will come to Brazil with Pearl Jam to perform at Lollapalooza 2018 and at the Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro, and will also take the opportunity to do three solo shows in São Paulo.
