Eddie Van Halen's son shares a message a year after his father's death: "I'm not okay."

Wolfgang Van Halen used his social media to express how much he misses his father, who passed away a year ago due to cancer

On the day marking one year since Eddie Van Halen 's death , his son Wolfgang Van Halen used his social media to post a brief, emotional tribute to his father. Wolfgang wrote:

"One year. You fought so hard for so long, but you were still taken from us. It's so unfair. I'm not okay. I don't think I'll ever be okay. There's so much I'd like to show you. So many things I'd like to share with you. I wish I could laugh with you again. I wish I could hug you again. I miss you so much it hurts."

"I'm trying my best here without you, but it's very difficult. I hope you're still proud. I love you with all my heart, Dad. Watch over me."

Wolfgang Van Halen is also a musician and had a very close relationship with his father. In June, he released the first album of his solo project, Mammoth WVH , where he used his father's legendary Frankenstrat on some songs . The song "Distance" was made in tribute to Eddie Van Halen and brought tears to the guitarist's eyes , who heard it while he was still alive.
