Auctions of items from music legends continue at full speed: this time, three guitars that belonged to Eddie Van Halen were sold for a total of $422,000.

The instruments were part of the Trilogy : Rock 'n' Roll Auction , held by Julien's Auctions on the 1st and 2nd. Other items and memorabilia used or owned by names such as David Bowie, Kurt Cobain, Elvis Presley, Aerosmith , and even pop music legends like Michael Jackson, Madonna , and Lady Gaga participated in the auction.

The guitars that found new owners were a 2004 EVH Charvel Art Series, sold for $140,800, and a Frankenstrat that Eddie built with guitar technician Matt Bruck in his home studio in 1991, which went for $231,250. Both have hand-painted stripes by the musician, as well as signatures and even a cigarette burn mark. Finally, the guitar used by the artist in Van Halen "Hot For Teacher" music video was sold for $50,000.
