Eddie Van Halen's ex-fiancée sells the icon's personal guitar at auction

This instrument is part of an exclusive edition created in 2006

Another guitar belonging to Eddie Van Halen is going up for auction. This time, the instrument available for bidding is a Wolfgang Special guitar by Peavey, which the legendary guitarist gave as a gift to actress Joey House during the couple's engagement.

The guitar is part of a commission of two instruments made especially for a performance Eddie gave at House of Petals , the actress's establishment, in 2006. After the performance, the guitar was given as a gift to the actress. “He created these House of Petals out of the love and passion we had,” Joey commented in a statement about the auction. “We would sit in the garden, play music, laugh and talk until late at night. I will continue to cherish these unforgettable memories forever.”

In addition to the guitar, autographed and dated by Eddie himself, who even drew a small flower on the instrument, the auctioned package includes a palette used by the artist and the guitar case. Bids will be accepted until March 31st on the official auction website .

Following Van Halen's death in October 2020, the guitarist's son criticized the behavior of people who received guitars as gifts and decided to sell them. "They're just trying to take advantage of my father's death. Screw them," Wolfgang .
