Eddie Van Halen will be honored with a memorial plaque outside the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, the venue where the band performed early in their career. Following a fan initiative, the city government approved the project.
According to Brave Words , the information was confirmed by the local city hall. The plaque became a popular demand after the guitarist's death in 2020, at the age of 65, with suggestions and requests to immortalize the musician by naming a street or other monument after him.
The funds for the memorial plaque were raised by fans through an online crowdfunding campaign. Now, with the approval of the authorities, the project will move forward, with an expected inauguration on October 6th, the first anniversary of Eddie Van Halen's death .
