The cause of Eddie Van Halen has been confirmed by TMZ . The guitarist passed away on October 6th in California after a long battle with cancer.
According to the death certificate obtained by TMZ , the guitarist suffered a stroke. In addition, the document lists several other secondary problems such as pneumonia, bone marrow disorder, myelodysplastic syndrome, lung cancer, irregular heartbeat, and skin cancer on the head and neck. Finally, the certificate also revealed that the guitarist's body was cremated.
Wolfgang Van Halen's son took to Twitter TMZ 's release of the document , but the certificate is public and anyone can request access to it. The document also contains details about the guitarist's ashes.
