Eddie Van Halen had lung and brain cancer, according to his son Wolfgang

The son also revealed his father's plans to go on a farewell tour with the three vocalists of Van Halen

Wolfgang Van Halen a song last Monday, the 16th, Eddie Van Halen , who passed away in October of this year. The track premiered on The Howard Stern Show , where the musician also gave an interview.

During the conversation, Wolfgang revealed that his father had been diagnosed with lung cancer in 2017 and that doctors had given him only six weeks to live. Eddie was already battling throat cancer and seeking alternative treatments in Germany.

Furthermore, the son also revealed that last year Eddie suffered a motorcycle accident and, when taken to the hospital, discovered that the cancer continued to spread and had reached his brain. None of this information, except for the throat cancer, had been disclosed to fans; the family respected the musician's privacy.

Wolfgang, recalling his father's final years, revealed that Eddie was considering going on a farewell tour with the three Van Halen vocalists – David Lee Roth, Sammy Hagar , and Gary Cherone – as well as bassist Michael Anthony.
