A new book about the legendary Eddie Van Halen is set to be released in October, aiming to capture the musician's complete story in his own words.
To achieve this, 50 hours of previously unreleased interview material with the guitarist were used, mostly recorded at Van Halen 's 5150 over the years. The book is called Eruption: Conversations With Eddie Van Halen , and its content was written by music journalists Brad Tolinski and Chris Gill . Comments from Eddie's family, friends, and colleagues were also used.
“Besides discussing his greatest triumphs as a revolutionary musician, including an unprecedented dive into the masterpiece of Van Halen, 1984 , the book also casts an unflinching eye on Edwards’ early struggles as a young Dutch immigrant unable to speak English, which resulted in perpetual problems with social anxiety and substance abuse,” reads an introduction on the Hachette Books .
Eruption: Conversations With Eddie Van Halen arrives on October 5th and is already available for pre-order here .
