School will tell the story of Rock in Rio
This Carnival, Mocidade Independente de Padre Miguel will put on a special parade, telling the story of the biggest music festival ever held in the country. The Rio de Janeiro-based samba school will showcase scenes from Rock in Rio, representing every edition since the first one in 1985.
Mocidade will be the fifth to parade at the Sambadrome on February 10th, and its mascot Eddie will have a prominent spot.
According to the school, a series of idols from all styles who have already performed at the festival will be represented, in order to "achieve the marriage of guitars and drums and make rock fall into samba".
