Singer Eddie Money died this Friday, the 13th, at the age of 70. He had been diagnosed with esophageal cancer and apparently died as a result of the disease.

The artist became known for hits such as “Baby Hold On”, “Two Tickets to Paradise”, “Shakin’” and “Take Me Home Tonight”. Eddie released 11 albums throughout his career and left behind a wife and five daughters.

“The Money Family regrets to announce that Eddie passed away peacefully early this morning. It is with heavy hearts that we say goodbye to our beloved husband and father. We cannot imagine a world without him. We are grateful for all that he will live on through his music,” the family said in a statement.

Rest in peace, Eddie Money.
