Singer Ed Motta lashed out at national and international rock figures in live-streamed videos, criticizing Raul Seixas , Elvis Presley , and Johnny Cash with insults.
Excerpts from Motta's live streams were published by the Cortes do Ed and generated buzz on social media. While drinking wine, Tim Maia began by criticizing Raul Seixas for having worked as a producer at CBS Records, now Sony, and for his musical quality, calling him "completely unqualified" and a composer of "primitive" melodies.
“Raul Seixas has a terrible character flaw in his life, he was a record label employee, meaning he worked against his colleagues, so fuck him,” he began (via Uol ). “I have no fear whatsoever of speaking against Raul Seixas, who was a piece of shit, musically awful, in every way. The one who did what he did best, which was the lyrics, was Paulo Coelho . So, this guy was an idiot, a little record label employee, recording some shitty albums, you understand?”
In a new clip published by the channel, the targets were Cash and Presley. “I can’t understand this Johnny Cash thing, I’ve tried to understand it, what is it? Is it the lyrics? They’re crap, the songs are crap. Is it because he wears black? Crap! If he were alive, I’d punch him in the face, man. I hate him more than Elvis,” he said, according to a transcript from Wikimetal .
In Elvis Presley's case, the criticism is directed at his repertoire. "Elvis is an imbecile, a piece of shit, but he sings well. He's an idiot, his repertoire is crap, he's a horse and he doesn't matter at all – he's a record label invention, like so many things you like – but he has that voice," he continued.
