Ed Motta really has a lot to say about rock artists and fans during the live streams he does on social media. After the backlash against Raul Seixas, Elvis Presley , and Johnny Cash , another excerpt from the live broadcast is drawing attention.

“Rock people are right-wing, misogynistic, stupid, and pentatonic scale players. Fuck them! A bunch of idiots, okay?”, Motta exclaimed in the same live stream where he insulted the genre's idols, but at a different point in the conversation with fans. The statement was shared by Felipe Andreoli , bassist of Angra , and caused outrage among the musician's colleagues and followers.

When discussing Brazilian rock, Motta also criticized the emerging "daddy's boy" bands of the 1980s, denying the existence of a truly Brazilian rock scene. "[Here] the equipment didn't arrive," he argued. "Then, in the 1980s, there were bands of diplomats' sons, record label owners' sons, airline owners' sons (...), nonsense. Rich kids trying to show off, shut up, man. In this shitty country, these assholes become stars, man."
