"But it just didn't work out," the bassist said during an interview.

Slash , Axl Rose , and Duff McKagan , members of the original Guns N' Roses lineup, spent years saying they would never reunite, but since 2016 the trio has been touring the world with a tour ironically titled " Not In This Lifetime."

From the original lineup, only drummer Steven Adler , who performed with the group a few times to play tracks from Appetite for Destruction , and guitarist Izzy Stradlin . According to McKagan, the group tried to include Stradlin in the reunion, but "it just didn't work out."

During an interview with a radio station in Colorado, USA – which you can listen to in full below – the bassist revealed that "it was something we tried at the beginning, but it didn't happen." At the time the reunion was announced, rumors about the band surfaced saying that the members weren't receiving the same salary and that's why Stradlin didn't agree to be part of the tour, but this information was not confirmed by any current member of Guns N' Roses.

Currently, the band has paused touring while Slash promotes his solo album Living the Dream, which will be touring Brazil this month , and the other members work on other projects, such as Duff and his solo album. The group returns to the road at the end of the year.
