Dua Lipa performed a cover of Aerosmith's classic "I Don't Want To Miss A Thing" during her show last Tuesday, the 9th, at TD Garden in Boston, United States.
For the first of two shows in the city, part of her Radical Optimism , the pop artist paid homage to Boston rock icons Aerosmith. The performance garnered applause and euphoria from the audience, with recordings that quickly spread across social media.
After a few songs from the setlist, Dua Lipa said, “In this part of the show, every night I’ve been playing a different song by a local artist from the city I’m in. I’m very excited, but a little nervous about the next song.”
"It's from a group formed in Boston, obviously, but I think for any young person who used LimeWire as a child, that was the first thing they downloaded. It was the first powerful ballad you sing at the top of your lungs whenever you have the chance. And there's also a movie that makes you laugh until you cry. It's 'I Don't Want To Miss A Thing' by Aerosmith.".
This wasn't the first time the British singer showed her adoration for rock bands. Her song "Break My Heart" samples "Need You Tonight" by INXS , crediting Andrew Farriss and Michael Hutchence with the songwriting.
On her new album, Radical Optimism, she invited Kevin Parker , the frontman of Tame Impala , to collaborate on some tracks. During her show in Australia in March, she covered AC/DC ." The pop artist also paid tribute to Scorpions during a tour in Germany, with a cover of "Wind of Change."
