Drowning Pool releases new single, “Revolution (The Final Amen)” and comments on new album.

CJ Pierce, guitarist and founder of the band, admits that the group has plans to "release an album next year."

Drowning Pool releases the single “Revolution (The Final Amen)”, available through SBG Records. It is the first music in 13 years since the reunion between CJ Pierce , guitarist and founder of the band, and the remaining members, Mike Luce (drums), Stevie Benton (bass) and Ryan McCombs (vocals).

In an interview with MikeZ , host of 96.7 KCAL-FM , the guitarist comments on the track (via Blabbermouth ), referring to its creation process and how it was the "first thing that came to mind." The artist continues, stating that the single was a combination of ideas between him and vocalist Ryan. Pierce reveals that he didn't want the song to be something like "Oh, Ryan's back," but rather a landmark event for both the group and the fans.

When speaking with Debbie Sexxton of iHeart Radio , Pierce says they spent “quite a lot of time” working on the song. Production began last year, 2023, however, “in the middle of touring,” the track took longer than expected to complete.

The song's main theme is "the world," according to Pierce, "It's more of a general thing about what's happening. Not specifically about a particular country or government or religion, it's more about the whole.".

Possible new album in 2025

In an interview with MikeZ, CJ revealed that the band has plans for 2025, including a new album: “We plan to put a record out sometime next year, which then leads us to the 25th anniversary of Sinner , the year after that, 2026. We have several things coming up.”
