Dropkick Murphys For The People, this Friday, the 4th, through the Dummy Luck Music / Play It Again Sam . Vinyl and CD versions will be released on October 10th and will include 5 bonus tracks. New singles and music videos will also be released in the coming weeks.
As the band's 13th studio album, For The People demonstrates courage and confidence in taking a stand against injustices occurring in the United States, doing so with the strength and intensity reminiscent of Dropkick Murphys' early punk rock roots. For The People is more than just a title—it's a heartfelt statement of who the band is and always has been. Whether writing about politics, family, friends, or simply life, the stories are profound, the memories intense, and the joy remains contagious.
To further reinforce the message, For The People is accompanied by an album cover created by renowned social and political artist Shepard Fairey , through his design studio Studio Number One . The artwork depicts a black rose, symbolizing change, renewal, new beginnings, courage, confidence, strength, and power.
The album is led by the first single, “Who'll Stand With Us?”, which encourages listeners to take action. It's a call for unity, a plea for sanity, and a look at what – and who – is truly dividing us, accompanied by a powerful music video that portrays the disturbing reality of people disappearing in the United States.
The MeidasTouch Network , a pro-democracy American podcast (and the #1 podcast in the US and Canada), noticed and shared the video and has shown continued support for the band's efforts to stand up against injustice.
Notably, Ken Casey was also interviewed by Jeffrey Goldberg , editor-in-chief of The Atlantic , for a story about the Dropkick Murphys and the album For The People . As Goldberg observed, "The fury runs like a red streak throughout the album For The People."
