The progressive metal band Dream Theater announced on the 10th the release of their newest single, "Night Terror," a track from their upcoming album, which also has a release date set.

Scheduled for release on February 7, 2025, the sixteenth studio album is titled Parasomnia , produced by guitarist John Petrucci , conceived by James “Jimmy T” Meslin , and mixed by Andy Sneap . The cover art was created by Hugh Syme , who designed the covers for Dream Theater's own A Dramatic Turn of Events Retro Active ( Def Leppard ), Roll the Bones ( Rush ), and Youthanasia ( Megadeth ).

The track “Night Terror”, from Parasomnia , also received an intense music video, marking the return of founder Mike Portnoy , drummer of Dream Theater, after 15 years away from the band.

Founded in 1985 by guitarist John Petrucci, bassist John Myung , and drummer Mike Portnoy, the trio's union dissolved only in 2010, when Portnoy left the band, giving way to his successor Mike Mangini in the same year.

The single “Night Terror” faithfully captures the roots of Dream Theater as one of the most important bands in the music scene. With a thrilling musical experience delivered in ten minutes, directed by Mike Leonard, check out the music video below.
