Dream Theater will perform in São Paulo in August of this year as part of their tour promoting the album A View From The Top of The World . This is the band's only solo performance in the country this year.

With over 35 years in the business, the band has become one of the most respected names in world metal, and here at Wikimetal Recommends three reasons why you shouldn't miss their show on August 31st at Tokio Marine Hall – if you were even thinking of letting this opportunity pass you by.

Tickets can now be purchased on the Tickets For Fun and at the point of sale located at the Renault Theatre (Avenida Brigadeiro Luís Antônio, 411, Bela Vista). Prices range from R$170 to R$620, depending on the section and type of ticket; learn more here .

Full show before Rock In Rio

Since the São Paulo date is Dream Theater's only solo show in Brazil in 2022, this is the only opportunity to see the group with the full setlist and complete production, as they return to the country after three years, before heading to the Rock In Rio .

This is because Dream Theater's last tour in Brazil took place in 2019 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the release of the album Scenes From A Memory , from 1999.

São Paulo is one of the cities that listens to Dream Theater the most.

Worldwide, São Paulo is the third city with the most monthly Dream Theater listeners on Spotify, with over 32,000 dedicated fans on the platform, behind only Jakarta, Indonesia, and Santiago, Chile.

Despite having a strong relationship with their Brazilian fanbase, and never leaving our country out of their tours, John Petrucci shared special memories about the city in an interview with The Wikimetal Happy Hour . “The first time we went there was incredible, we had never experienced that before, being an American band, going to Brazil and South America, and the audience was amazing,” he said. “There’s good food, good people, warm weather, and people who really connect with Dream Theater.”

Grammy-winning song

After three nominations in their career, Dream Theater finally won a Grammy this year in the Best Metal Performance category with the song "The Alien ," the first single from the album A View From The Top Of The World (2021), which opens the shows on their current tour.
