Dream Theater Parasomnia this Friday, the 7th, their first with Mike Portnoy since Clouds & Silver Linings (2009), almost 16 years ago.

Parasomnia , the band's sixteenth studio album, was produced by guitarist John Petrucci , conceived by James "Jimmy T" Meslin , and mixed by Andy Sneap .

The cover art was created by Hugh Syme , who designed the covers for Dream Theater's own A Dramatic Turn of Events Retro Active ( Def Leppard ), Roll the Bones ( Rush ), and Youthanasia ( Megadeth ).

During an interview with Marcelo Vieira and Matheus Ribeiro , Portnoy stated that the new album will be a continuation of Black Clouds & Silver Linings.

“To be honest, I think it picks up exactly where Black Clouds left off. There’s a certain style that the five of us have when we write together. And if you listen to the album from that 1999 lineup, [Metropolis Pt. 2:] Scenes From A Memory , up to Black Clouds & Silver Linings , if you look at that sequence of five or six albums, that’s the sound and style of those five people.”

He concluded: “So I think that’s a good indication of what you can expect from the new Dream Theater album. It definitely sounds like classic Dream Theater.”
