The progressive metal band Dream Theater announced details on Wednesday, the 28th, about their 15th studio album.
Titled A View From The Top Of The World , the album is scheduled for release on October 22nd and features 7 tracks totaling 70 minutes of music, 20 of which are dedicated solely to the closing track.
“We love playing instruments. That never changes,” commented guitarist John Petrucci . “I love being creative, writing, and exercising that part of my mind. We’ve had the chance to do that for a long time, and we don’t underestimate it. Whenever we get together, we know we can’t disappoint the fans or ourselves, so we find a way to push ourselves even harder.”
“We treat each album as if it were our first. It’s been a long journey, but we’re not going to stop,” added vocalist James LaBrie .
The cover art is by renowned artist Hush Syme , who has previously worked with Iron Maiden, Rush, Whitesnake , and others. Check it out below along with the tracklist:
