Dream Theater performed a cover of Pink Floyd during their show last Wednesday, the 2nd, at the Anfiteatro Degli Scavi in Pompeii, Italy. The show took place at the same location where
Pink Floyd filmed their iconic Live at Pompeii in 1971.

Immediately after the show, drummer Mike Portnoy posted a photo of the setlist on his social media , thanking everyone:

“So many emotions tonight… I’ll share photos and other things tomorrow… but I want to leave this here for now. This was tonight’s setlist here in Pompeii. Yes, indeed: We played Pink Floyd’s “Echoes” in its entirety (all 25 minutes!) on the same hallowed ground where Pink Floyd played it over 50 years ago!! It was truly a night to remember… a night I will cherish forever! Wow…”

Hours before the show, Mike shared :

“Throughout my teenage years in the 80s, I adored the film Pink Floyd: Live At Pompeii . I wore out my VHS… (and then my Laserdisc of it, and then my DVDs and Blu-rays… and, a few months ago, I added to the collection the newly restored and remixed version that was just released). Today, I cross a HUGE spot off my bucket list to play on the same hallowed ground where Pink Floyd filmed that psychedelic masterpiece over 50 years ago… Tonight is going to be EPIC and I’m going to soak up every moment!”
