Dream Theater released the music video for "Transcending Time," a track from their album A View From The Top Of The World , released in October 2021.
With fantastical scenery featuring eagles suspended in the air, giant spiders, frantic clocks, and fish flying through the skies, the music video boasts artwork by artist Wayne Joyner .
Thanks to their fifteenth album, Dream Theater has been nominated for a 2022 Grammy Award in the Best Metal Performance category with the song "The Alien." Their competitors are Deftones, Gojira, Mastodon , and Rob Zombie .
“This time, I don’t know if I’ll remember all the names, but I think we’re competing with Gojira and Mastodon, and that’s a cool list. I remember being surprised in some years by the nominees – it seemed kind of strange – but this year seems appropriate,” commented guitarist John Petrucci about the band’s second nomination at the awards.
