Down , a supergroup featuring vocalist Phil Anselmo ( Pantera ) and guitarists Pepper Keenan ( Corrosion of Conformity ) and Kirk Windstein ( Crowbar ), has begun working on its first new music in nearly 10 years.

The band, which also includes drummer Jimmy Bowar ( Eyehategod ) and bassist Pat Bruders (ex- Goatwhore ), shared a photo on social media from the studio with the caption: “So… we kind of wrote 2 songs for Down today!!!” See the post here.

The group hasn't released any new tracks since the release of the EP Down IV – Part II in May 2014.

Meanwhile, Anselmo will be busy with Pantera next year. The reformed band, completed by Rex Brown, Zakk Wylde and Charlie Benante , embarks on a North American tour in early 2024 with special guests Lamb of God , and will continue to support Metallica at some shows on the M72 World Tour .
