Doug Aldrich , current lead guitarist for The Dead Daisies , has been diagnosed with throat cancer. Tests scheduled for next week mean the former Whitesnake and Ronnie James Dio will be unable to tour with his current band.
On their social media, The Dead Daisies posted ( via Blabbermouth ): “Greetings to the fans, we have some bad news. Unfortunately, Doug has been diagnosed with throat cancer, which is treatable, and he will be having surgery next week.”
The band already has a replacement for Doug Aldrich while he undergoes treatment: "Longtime friend Reb Beach (Whitesnake, Dokken , Winger , Night Ranger , Alice Cooper ) will fill in for Aldrich during his absence on the upcoming European tour."
