Iconic German singer Doro Pesch was honored on March 31st with a lifetime achievement award during a solemn ceremony held in Düsseldorf, the city where she grew up. The award was presented by Klaus Meine , vocalist of the legendary band Scorpions .

Doro declares ( via Blabbermouth ): “I am very happy and deeply moved, it is a huge honor to receive this award from my hometown, Düsseldorf.” The singer also thanked Klaus Meine for the tribute and for their long friendship: “A very special thank you to Klaus for his touching words and wonderful friendship. This night will always have a very special place in my heart.”

The award celebrates Doro's career since the 1980s, when she emerged as the frontwoman of the band Warlock and paved the way as one of the first women to gain prominence in the predominantly male heavy metal scene. Over more than four decades of her career, Doro has sold over 10 million albums and performed more than 3,500 shows in 60 countries, numbers that solidify her status as one of the greatest artists in the genre worldwide. The tribute reinforces Doro's cultural and artistic impact not only in Germany, but also on the global rock and metal scene.

Doro Pesch will return to Brazil to perform at Bangers Open Air , at the Memorial da América Latina, in São Paulo, on May 2, 2025. In a recent interview with Wikimetal , the singer commented on her expectations for the performance and her affection for the Brazilian audience.
