The iconic Doro Pesch , known as the queen of heavy metal, was one of the first major female figures in the genre in the 1980s. The vocalist for the band Warlock , and currently pursuing a solo career, the German artist inspired girls and women around the world to follow their dreams of pursuing a career in heavy metal music.
In a interview with Wikimetal , the singer, songwriter, and music producer gave advice to all girls who want a successful career in the industry.
“I would say, you know, always, always follow your heart, follow your instincts, follow your soul. And do what you plan, give it 100%, apply all your love and dedication to it. And be yourself, never let them change what you think is right, and always keep going. Never give up, and always try,” she said.
Doro didn't let go of the motivation needed for the most challenging moments, which undoubtedly applies to everyone interested in achieving a dream, whether in metal or not. “And when you get knocked down, just get back out there and try, try even harder. When you believe in what you love, you definitely succeed. And to everyone, good luck, keep fighting, and try to surround yourself with people who support you, love you, people who believe in you, and if nobody believes in you, believe in yourself. Go ahead and do what you love and what feels right for you,” she concluded.
